The new Meta Verified service gives Instagram and Facebook users a blue tick for $11.99 and $14.99 per month.
After Twitter, now Meta has decided to offer blue tick and more services to its social network users by charging them. Meta has unveiled a new service called “Meta Verified” for Instagram and Facebook users, which is the paid Blue Tick, which is available to users at a monthly cost of $11.99 for the web and $14.99 for mobile.
Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, unveiled the Meta Verified service on Instagram, which is being offered on a trial basis. According to Zuckerberg, service users receive a blue tick, are more visible on the company’s platforms, and are prioritized in customer service. This service will be available to users in Australia and New Zealand this week, and users in more countries will have access to it soon.
Instagram and Facebook paid blue tick.
According to Mark Zuckerberg, this shared service will increase the security of meta platforms:
“This week, we’re starting to offer Meta Verified, A subscription service that allows you to verify your account with a national card and get a blue tick, more protection against account fraud, and direct access to customer service. This new feature is about increasing authenticity and security in all our services.”
For a user to get the Meta Verified service, he must be at least 18 years old, register an ID card, and this card must match the name and photo on Facebook or Instagram. This service is very similar to Elon Musk’s $8 Twitter Blue. However, Meta has said that accounts that have received a blue tick in the past will not change, and maintaining this tick will not require purchasing a new service.
Users who purchase Instagram’s paid blue tick service will get exclusive stickers for Stories and Reels and receive 100 free stars or the platform’s digital currency every month to help influencers.
According to Meta, the service is currently out of stock for businesses. If a user purchases the service, they cannot change their name, username, date of birth, or profile picture but must go through the verification process again.
Meta said in a post that it wants to build a subscription service that is valuable to all users, including content creators or influencers, businesses, and regular users in the long term. Meta wants more people to get a blue tick with this and others to trust them more. However, without a doubt, making money is the most important reason for providing this paid service, especially when Meta isn’t releasing decent financial reports.
