The Xperia 1 Mark 5, Sony’s latest flagship phone, is more expensive than the iPhone 14 Pro Max and the Galaxy S23 Ultra at $1,600, according to a Chinese leaker.
The whistleblowers have revealed the prices of Sony Xperia 1 Mark 5 and Xperia 10 Mark 5 phones on the Weibo social network. Based on this, the Xperia 1 V will be launched in the US market for 1,599 dollars and in the European market for 1,399 euros. The price of the Xperia 10 V in the US and European markets is unknown, but the phone will cost US$532 in Taiwan and US$484 in Hong Kong.
The $1,599 price tag makes the Xperia 1 Mark 5 costly. Currently, the best flagship phones on the market have a base price of under $1,000. Galaxy S23 Ultra and iPhone 14 Pro Max, the current best phones of Samsung and Apple, have been launched at $1,199 and $1,099, respectively.
Earlier, some rumors claimed that the Xperia 1 Mark 5 would come to the market with a price close to the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Sony’s new phones are likely to be unveiled in the coming months.
